ON PAPER > Studies of Squares (Oil on paper)
(1989)
The square is a mathematical shape that does not exist in nature. It alludes to home, and to a calm, protective container that we experience as protective and stable. In this series, Yael tried to create a clear sense of the place these squares inhabit. Even though the horizon line is missing, the viewer experiences a space that is both physical and internal realities.
